Our annual homeschool Valentine Skate party was today. Everyone had a great time skating, giving out their valentines and competing in the box contest. Our homeschool Valentine festival consists of several parts:

Valentine Party for HomeschoolersValentine Box Making Contest

The challenge is to make a Valentine box that is unique and artistic. Each age category had the top three winners and they all got prizes. This year the homeschoolers really stepped up their game. There were some amazingly creative valentine boxes, some even with movement and sound! It was very difficult to judge the winners because they were all so creative. The youngest age category was a stealth plane with working propeller. Next year promises to be bigger and better!

Distributing Valentines

No homeschool Valentine party would be complete without handing out your valentines and special treats. There was a swarm to get all the valentines in each of the boxes and everyone’s box, no matter how big, was overflowing with love! Friends had a great time giving and receiving the cards which were everything from store bought to hand made creations.

Everyone from the youngest to the adults had a blast skating at the rink. The little ones were able to get skate mates to help them stay balances while the older ones got more adventurous. Even some of the parents had a great time skating. Some of them hadn’t skated in many years but they still had a ton of fun!

At the end of the day, all the homeschoolers were worn out but they all had so much fun with their friends and cannot wait for next year.
